Partners
Adam Chez is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Charis Capital and its affiliated funds. Adam leads the firm’s Investment Committee where he is responsible for overseeing real estate acquisition and development and asset and property management activities. Adam is actively involved in sourcing new investment transactions, in addition to the development of programmatic institutional partnerships. Additionally, Adam has led the successful reposition of multiple historical infill multi-use projects and ground-up MF and hotel projects. Prior to forming Charis Capital, Adam being a young veteran of the managed healthcare industry, used his experience to build relevant care-based services in the physical property and digital healthcare space. Adam was the founder and Managing Director at Verve Venture Partners, which owned, developed and operated 9 long-term care facilities that provided habilitation and housing to individuals with mental health or developmental disability diagnosis. In addition, he had a successful exit as founder of Helpio, which provided an “Uber” like technology experience for the non-medical in-home care industry, allowing caregivers and careseekers to connect through an integrated platform. In 2008, Adam and his wife Terra established the Hopeful Hearts Foundation in honor of their three children, all born with congenital heart defects. Adam serves on the board of multiple philanthropic organizations and is an advisor and investor to several early stage companies in the real estate, healthcare and technology sector. Adam earned his BA from Chapman University, and his MBA from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Ian is one of Charis Capital’s Managing Partners. In that role, Ian is focused on leading the strategic direction of the firm, management of firm assets and execution. Together with the firm’s other Managing Partner, Ian approves of the firm’s acquisitions and divestitures and focuses on investor relations and business development. Ian also serves currently as the firm’s general counsel. Prior to joining Charis Capital, Ian served as general counsel for a large American brewer and restaurant operator. Ian also served as general counsel and business development manager for the casino, hotels and resorts division of a global hospitality company. Ian started his career as a corporate attorney in private practice in Boston, MA where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, capital markets, securities law and real estate joint ventures. Ian received a BA in Economics from Colgate University, JD from Boston University, and an MBA from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Jon Newman serves as Managing Director at Charis Capital and its affiliated funds.Jon has more than 23 years of real estate development and management experience. Mr. Newman oversees all property management functions of the firm’s real estate portfolio, while supporting due diligence, project feasibility, project management and construction. Throughout his career, Jon has provided day-to-day oversight on commercial assets, managed care facilities and medical office products. Jon is a partner and COO at Verve Venture Partners, which owns, developed and operated 9 long-term care facilities that provided habilitation and housing to individuals with mental health or developmental disability diagnosis. In addition Jon has held COO/CTO positions in multiple technology ventures. He also serves as CFO to Hopeful Hearts Foundation that helps support children and families that are affected by congenital heart defects. Jon holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, San Diego in Biochemistry.
